Hallam (playing as Dearne) were ECB 2014 National Indoor Championship winners and in the same year the 1st team reached the last 8 of the ECB National 20/20 Competition. This year again they were Yorkshire indoor and SYSCL T20 champions.

The club now has over 200 juniors who play all year round, with winter coaching from November to April, good links with schools, matches in term time in the Sheffield and North Derbyshire leagues and cricket camps, four days a week, all through the summer holidays. Many boys and girls go on to represent Sheffield and Yorkshire in their age group teams. With group coaching and one-to-one coaching and a really friendly, supportive atmosphere, the club is really doing its best for youngsters. Everyone is welcome.

Many of our juniors, both boys and girls, have gone on to represent Sheffield, South Yorkshire and the full Yorkshire team at age-group level. In 2016, our U15s were 3rd in the country in the ECB National Club Championships.

We are a really sociable, welcoming club. If you'd like to join or would just like to find out more about us, please contact our secretary, Richard Storer, on

Welcome to Hallam

First mentioned in 1804, Hallam is one of the oldest cricket clubs and plays on arguably the oldest club ground in Yorkshire . Now we have two grounds - at Sandygate and Crimicar Lane and run 23 different teams. Hallam’s interest is firmly in the future of the game.

For seniors, we have five Saturday teams - our 1st XI play in the Yorkshire South ECB Premier League, our 2nd XI in the top (Championship) Division of the South Yorkshire Senior Cricket League and our 3rd XI play in the top (1st) division) of the Yorkshire & Derbyshire Cricket League with the 4ths in Div 2 and the 5ths in Div 4.

We also have a Wednesday evening team in the premier division of the Sheffield Midweek Alliance, two teams who play in the Last Man Stands League on Thursday evenings, a Sunday Friendly side with fixtures every week and a share in a combined South Sheffield/North Derbys Women's team. So there is plenty of good cricket at all levels for anyone wishing to join.
